Seminar Consultations
For R&D or other product development organizations where scientists would benefit from
either a first course or a refresher in patent matters, I can offer seminars that are
tailored to the IP field that the organization works in, and the specific problems facing the group at the time..
Here is an example of a presentation on patent claims. It covers the basics of patent claim reading
(but not writing) and the meaning of certain terms and structures in claims.
The intent of the presentation is to be example based. Once the basic terms have been defined,
you will see that there are several charts in the presentation dedicated to examples from a
particular field (in this case hygiene products). I can work with you to tailor the presentation to
include examples from your own organization's IP, and even go on to analyze some of the competitive patents
in the field in a seminar type of format, or on a one on one basis.
Other subjects that may be of interest to you could be;
Reading disclosures (sorting the wheat from the chaff).
Planning experiments for examples to support claims.
File histories and how to use them
